 Parshuram Temple is an old temple situated in Chiplun, which is popular for the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Parshuram. It has been constructed with a perfect fusion of Hindu and Muslim architectural styles. The temple is also surrounded by stone walls and consists of three idols that were brought here 300 years ago by Brahmendra Swami. 
The temple dedicated to Goddess Renuka is also situated just behind the temple of Parshuram. Goddess Renuka was the mother of Parshuram and it is believed that the Bandganga Lake at this site was created using 5 arrows by Parshuram.

The beautiful city of Chiplun is situated in Ratnagiri district in the state ofMaharashtra. Chiplun is located on the Mumbai-Goa highway in western India.

Chiplun is an industrial town. Pharmaceutical and chemical industries are the prime business here. Chiplun, the name means ‘The abode of Lord Parshuram. The city dwells on the banks of the river Vashishti. The Western Ghats is to the east of the city and Guhagar lies to the west of the city.


Chiplun, located in the Konkan region, is a beautiful town sandwiched in a valley between the western ghats on one side and the Arabian sea on the other. The city is a link between the western coast and the interiors of Maharashtra. The town is also a popular stopover for those who proceed towards Goa via Mumbai.

Boating on the Vashishthi river and trekking in the hills around Chiplun are some of the activities which one can involve when on a tour to the place.
